Pike Re-joins HDA

Pike Lumber Company has joined HDA for the year 2000. Vice-President/Sales Manager, John Brown, said, "We (here at Pike) realize that many of the issues and problems facing the Hardwood Distribution Yard Association members were, to a large degree, our issues, too. Also, we found that many of our customers were HDA members, and we wanted to get involved in issues important to them."

Pike's northern Indiana location is ideal for acquiring a wide variety of popular species such as red and white oak, hard and soft maple, walnut, cherry, ash, poplar, hickory, and basswood.

In response to the JIT buyer, Pike stocks a perpetual inventory of 7,000,000 board feet of high grade hardwoods. This inventory includes 3-4,000,000' of kiln dried, ready to ship 4/4 through 8/4 in most species and 10/4, 12/4 and 16/4 in some species. Specialty items such as rift and quartered white oak and red oak are also available.

Pike has a fleet of delivery trucks offering prompt service. They take pride in their available widths and lengths, and carefully dried thick stock offered to customers on a regular basis. The company keeps a watchful eye over the manufacturing process from the forest through to the kiln dried delivered board.

Annual Meeting Rapidly Approaching

The HDA annual meeting will be held during the NHLA convention in Washington, DC. This event will take place on September 20th -23rd , 2000. Rooms are already filling up rapidly.
